CPCS Frequently Asked Questions

CPCS Accredited Test CentreThe Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) is one of the most widely recognised card scheme for plant operators in the UK, however understanding the scheme can be a bit of a nightmare for most!

Here at HR Training we have spent years learning the CPCS scheme inside and out, and we constantly keep abreast of the updates and changes that frequently occur. We have created this FAQ guide for acquiring a CPCS card.

CPCS offer two levels in its card hierarchy. The first level is the red Trained Operator card which is valid for two years and non-renewable. The next level is the blue Competent Operator card which is valid for five years, renewable and obtained through a plant-based NVQ.
