CPCS Wheeled Loading Shovel (A21)

Introduction

A tractor-like vehicle with a shovel attachment, the Wheeled Loading Shovel performs heavy-duty earthwork and construction operations, such as extracting from a stockpile or bank and loading vehicles. The recycling and waste sector often use the wheeled version machine, allowing versatility of movement and loading capabilities.

There are two main types of loading shovel vehicles- tracked, primarily used to backfill, spread and level various types of material using a multi-purpose front bucket. The previously mentioned wheeled version can clean, spread, and level materials.  Training on both loading shovels is essential to ensure they work safely and efficiently.

This CPCS A21 certification delivers the necessary skills, knowledge, and understanding of safely operating a wheeled loading shovel. It is specifically aimed at novice plant operators.
