NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate

Introduction

This course is delivered in association with Phoenix Health and Safety.

Without proper prevention and procedures, the ever present risk of fire can cause catastrophic damage and harm, but with relevant and high-quality training, workers can spot issues before they escalate, preventing fires, limiting their spread and ensuring that buildings can be evacuated quickly and safely.

Legislation requires the appointment of a responsible person who hsa duties to ensure a fire Risk assessment has been conducted and a fire safety and evacuation plan completed.

This NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate course allows employers to improve the fire safety culture within their organisation, helping them understand the dangers and how to apply measures to minimise risk at work.

Course Outline

Case studies, relatable scenarios, and discussions combined with practical activities take delegates through health and safety fundamentals and knowledge of relevant legislation. NEBOSH external examiners will evaluate both parts of the assessment.

Taken over two parts, the assessment consists of:

  • An open book examination with 24 hours to complete and submit from home
  • A practical fire risk assessment at their workplace, using frameworks and standards, such as the Home Office fire guidance and PAS79-1:2020.

There is no time restriction for the risk assessment, but we recommend three hours to compile a comprehensive risk assessment. NEBOSH external examiners will evaluate both parts of the evaluation.
