Adam was worked for HR Training for over a year now and has been a valuable member of our team both in the office and on our purpose-built training area.
What does your role involve at HR Training & Development?
As training assistant I help around the office as well as the yard. I ensure the courses are run smoothly by creating the course packs and revision material as well as ordering the required equipment. I am also in charge of ensuring all certification is sent out to the correct addresses and help out setting up touch screen test bookings.
When I'm in the yard, I try to make sure that the grounds and equipment are tidy, well assorted and ready to be used. I also operate the pedestrian operated tower crane for slinger signaller tests which I enjoy doing. Operating it requires concentration and quick reflexes as I am given hand signals to follow.
What do you like the most about your job?
There are many aspects of my job that are enjoyable such as the time spent with my colleagues when I'm office-based and also working as a team. Administering touch screen tests is great as I get to learn about different candidates' backgrounds. When on the yard I also enjoy working around the training courses as I am often taught new things. I love operating the crane and the dumper as I feel like I'm in control and competent.
