Meet the Team – Mark Holroyd, Employer Engagement Manager

Mark Holroyd is the newest member of the our team. Having joined us in June, Mark has helped a number of our customers obtain funding towards their NVQs.

Mark HolroydWhat does your role involve at HR Training & Development?

My role is fairly specialist in that I am solely responsible for promoting and sourcing suitable firms and candidates that are suitable for funding in Plant Operations and Civil Engineering qualifications. HR Training are lucky enough to be a nominated training provider to deliver NVQs to firms on a fully funded basis.

I research and approach likely firms with a view to arranging a meeting to discuss the qualifying criteria and the wide range of funded qualifications that are available through the funding that has been made available by the European Social Fund.

The area the funding is available in is quite a wide area so my role does involve travelling out to meet the various companies, which enables them to meet me face-to-face ask any questions.

What is your favourite thing about your job?

There are many things I enjoy about my job. I’m lucky to work with so many knowledgeable, professional and helpful colleagues. Each one has made me feel welcome and will go out of their way to help me with anything I need to know about our range of services and the various pathways that lead to the many qualifications we deliver.

The most rewarding part of my job is when I've been out to meet with a firm and identified they have a need for various qualifications, seeing them become accepted for the qualifications and seeing the learner packs coming back in to the office once our assessor has been out and enrolled them. I suppose seeing them go full circle from initial conversation, to signing up, to receiving the qualification.

Fairly simple reasoning behind me saying why people should come to HR Training for their training.

We are a fully fit for purpose equipped test centre, running daily tests and courses. We employ a full range of industry professionals who operate to exacting standards who are all subject to external audits to ensure quality of delivery be that in delivery short courses such as working in Confined Spaces, New Roads and Street Works, and CPCS/NPORS plant machinery tests. All our examiners and assessors are from within the industry and have considerable experience in human skills and adopt a belt and braces approach.

Being that so many different people come in to the test centre on a daily basis there is an ever changing stream of people and the joy they exhibit when they have passed a test is great to see.
